Client Testimonial

We engaged Whisker Architecture for a Home Master Report to renovate our home, and their work has been outstanding. They took the time to understand our lifestyle and requirements, delivering three high-level design options that maximize our north-facing backyard and create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The designs are open and airy, with a focus on low maintenance, practicality, storage, and energy efficiency.

Each of the three design options came with a clear breakdown of costs, showing us how much we could achieve within our budget. This transparency helped us make an informed decision that perfectly aligned with our vision.

We loved their work so much that we’ve now engaged them to project manage the build. Their professionalism and attention to detail have been exceptional, and we’re excited to see our vision come to life in the near future.

Highly recommend Whisker Architecture for their ability to deliver innovative, tailored designs that perfectly suit your lifestyle and budget.

Save Time, Money and Heartache with the Right Advice from Day One

In a profession that’s notoriously mysterious and absurdly over-budget, Whisker Architecture is pulling back the curtain on architectural fees and construction costs.

Our obligation-free Home Master Plan Reports saves clients time, money, and heartache on their new build or renovation with the right advice from day one. We clarify scope and budget, to set client expectations before they invest in costly design services.

And the best part? This unique diagnosis tool enables our firm to commit to fixed fee architectural services – bucking the trend of % of construction or hourly rates fees preferred in our industry.

Our Home Masterplan Report allows homeowners to make well-informed decisions - clarifying scope and budget, and setting client expectations.

Clarify your scope and budget from the start

A Home Masterplan Report is ideal for clients still deciding on:

  • Strategic Direction [sell or extend, buy or build],

  • Scope of Works [3 bed or 4],

  • Budget [how much do you choose to invest for the outcome],

  • Configurations [should the master suite be at the front of the house or on level 1], and/or

  • Professional Guide [who will lead you through this process).

Before you buy, before you build, ensure the strategy for your next project aligns with your vision and values.

“Can I afford my dream home?”

A Home Masterplan Report enables you to move forward with your decision to build, renovate, extend, or sell with open eyes.

“Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice”

Every Whisker Architecture project begins with a Home Masterplan Report. It is your strategic roadmap, giving you clarity on design possibilities, budget expectations, and the practical considerations that shape your home before you commit to design or construction. By investing upfront, you save time, money, and heartache later, with advice you can trust from day one.

Inclusions

  • On-site Briefing Session: We walk your site together, explore how you live, and understand the goals, challenges and long-term intentions for your home.

  • Site & Planning Review: A clear explanation of zoning, overlays, services and any constraints that may influence your options in plain English.

  • Inspiration Snapshot: A curated overview of style and materials so we begin with shared visual direction.

  • Three Tailored Design Pathways: The Dream, The Budget and the Goldilocks, three distinct ways to shape your home based on lifestyle fit, desired outcomes and budget ranges.

  • Cost Comparisons: Independent cost guidance for each pathway so you understand the implications of scope, materials and construction approach.

  • Complete Project Budget: A forecast of consultants, approvals and contingencies for a realistic view of total project investment.

For renovation projects, existing floor plans (including realestate.com.au marketing plans) are usually sufficient. If no plans are available, a site measure may be required and will be confirmed with you before proceeding.

What is Included?

Guided by your values, needs and lifestyle, we work together to clarify your scope and budget. Because we believe values alignment with the spaces we occupy builds capacity for empathy, kindness, and generosity.

The Masterplan Report initiates your home renovation or build project by outlining architectural inspiration, site characteristics, family needs, and budget considerations. It includes site analysis, inspiration images, spatial diagrams, and opinions of probable cost.

We provide three distinct design pathways—'The Dream,' 'The Budget,' and 'The Goldilocks'—each tailored to explore different facets of your vision and financial considerations:

  • “The Dream” - Your dream brief shown as a design option for your home.

  • “The Budget” - The essential elements of your dream distilled into the initial budget amount you provide.

  • “The Goldilocks” - This option shows a great balance between the aspirations of “The Dream” and the priorities of “The Budget”.

This unique process provides you with flexibility and the ability to make informed decisions that align with your vision and financial considerations. When a clients’ budget and dream requirements are already aligned that gives us the freedom to explore layout options which may reflect alternate lifestyle preferences.

Once these three designs have been presented, a fourth option - the customised 'Signature Strategy' is prepared that blends or stages elements to suit your unique needs.

This is an obligation-free service. No lock-in contracts. No design copyrights withheld.

Once this report has been completed there is no obligation to continue your design journey with our firm and you may take the report with you as a briefing document to any other designer of your choice.
