Reviving Warmth in a Modest Heritage Home
For a pair of empty-nesters ready to embrace retirement, this small home renovation brings new life to a much-loved Newport address. Once cold and dark, the house now opens naturally toward its garden—creating a calm, light-filled retreat that balances heritage sensitivity with modern comfort.
Located within the Housing Commission of Victoria’s West Newport Estate, the design carefully respects the area’s Interwar character while improving energy efficiency and flow. It’s a gentle renewal that honours the past and plans for the future.
