Design [for] Your Future

Build Your Dream Team

Whisker Architecture is a Melbourne architecture and interior design studio working with professionals who want more than just a beautiful house.

From Fitzroy to Richmond to coastal Victoria, we create sustainable homes with clarity, comfort, and strategy at the core.

About You

What if your home was not just functional, but foundational?

You have been thinking about this for a while. Maybe over your morning coffee, maybe late at night scrolling through endless tabs. You have Googled, compared, and bookmarked, but all the websites are starting to blur together.

Here is what you do know: you want more than just a beautiful house. You are a professional, perhaps a lawyer, healthcare leader, or business owner, and you are planning a renovation, extension, or new build not just for today but for the future you want to create for your family.

Right now, the scope feels unclear, the budget seems like a moving target, and every decision feels significant. You are not alone. Many of our clients start here, excited but unsure where to begin.

We also work with schools and workplaces across Victoria who share our commitment to long-term thinking, environmental performance, and design that reflects their values.

What do the common industry buzzwords actually mean for you at Whisker Architecture?

  • You want a beautiful home. We design with strategy and creativity so beauty and function come together naturally.

  • Every project starts with your story. Your values and lifestyle shape the design, which means no two homes are ever the same.

Our Team & Values

Live, Learn & Work [in] Your Values

This is our guiding principle.

For us, architecture is about more than buildings. It is about creating homes, schools, and workplaces that reflect what matters most to the people who use them. When spaces support who we want to be and how we want to live, they create room for empathy, kindness, and generosity. And who would not want a world with more of that?

This belief shapes not only our work but also our team.

Led by Audrey Whisker, a Certified Passive House Designer and Registered Architect, Whisker Architecture is a boutique studio that combines technical expertise with human understanding. Audrey’s career spans over a decade of residential, multi-residential, education, and workplace projects, including award-winning multimillion-dollar education facilities across Victoria. Her background in delivering large and complex projects means you benefit from robust systems and rigorous standards without the bureaucracy of a large firm.

We are intentionally small, which means your project receives direct attention from the people designing it. You work closely with us, not through layers of account managers, and we bring in trusted builders, consultants, and suppliers from our established network where specialist input is needed. This agility, combined with our focus on sustainability and inclusivity, allows us to create tailored, enduring designs that are never dictated by trends.

Every building we shape is designed for a better tomorrow, for our clients, for their families, for their communities, and for the planet.

  • Director & Registered Architect (ARBV), Certified Passive House Designer

My love of architecture began earlier than most. As a child, I would sit with floor plans from charity auctions my parents supported, redesigning them just for fun. At age eleven, my dad looked at my sketches and said, “You know you could make a living doing that? It’s called being an architect.” That moment sparked a path I have never stepped away from.

I was born in Sydney and grew up moving often — from Vanuatu to country Queensland, the United Arab Emirates, and Canberra. Each place exposed me to a diversity of cultures, climates, and architectural styles. Standing in awe inside French churches and châteaux, I wondered why some buildings felt so powerful while others fell flat. That curiosity still drives my work today: why shouldn’t every home, school, or workplace inspire the same sense of belonging and intensity?

With over a decade of experience across residential, education, and workplace projects, I bring both breadth and focus to my practice. Before founding Whisker Architecture, I led award-winning educational facilities for the Victorian School Building Authority and Catholic Education Office, where projects demanded rigorous delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of care. These experiences taught me how design can support learning, community, and wellbeing at scale.

As a Certified Passive House Designer, sustainability and energy efficiency are not optional extras in my work. They are foundational. From bushfire-resilient homes in Victoria to multi-generational living spaces and modern renovations, my goal is always the same: to design buildings that support people in living their values while reducing environmental impact.

I believe that when we live, learn, and work in spaces that support who we want to be, we gain more capacity for empathy, kindness, and generosity. That philosophy shapes everything we do at Whisker Architecture.

Outside the studio, I live in Melbourne with my family and our two dogs, Hans and Trixie. Daily walks with them remind me that architecture, like life, is about rhythm, balance, and connection.

  • Morale Officer

Hans, one of our office dogs, takes his role seriously: boosting team spirits, reminding us to step outside, and keeping the studio atmosphere grounded and joyful.

  • Puplic Relations

Trixie is the friendliest face at Whisker Architecture. She ensures every visitor is greeted warmly, every meeting starts with a smile, and that our team remembers the importance of connection and play.
