Here is a quick sneak peek of their new, double classroom with connected staff workroom and small group room.

"Bittern Primary school is located on the Mornington Peninsula on the Western Port Bay side of Bass Strait. After years of community petitioning, Bittern Primary School was officially established in 1916. As of 2022, Bittern PS sits on 14860 sq. m (1.49 ha) of land with 5 permanent buildings and 3 double relocatable’s. The school is built adjacent to a large council owned easement, running the entire length of the school, with many well-established trees. [...] The Vision at Bittern Primary School captures the essential learning and understanding that students, teachers, parents and community members identify as important attributes for all learners who attend our school. Our committed staff provide an engaging learning environment that promotes inclusivity, positive relationships and a productive learning environment that cultivates success for all. ." - School

Stage 1 centres on the refurbishment of the Library Building into classrooms. The refurbishment will include updating the space to allow for Team Teaching in larger cohorts via a pair of General Learning Areas, and a Small Group room to facilitate smaller student groups. Additionally, the design will allow for withdrawl nooks and messy play areas. These modes of learning are all identified as aspirations by the School where Team Teaching and the ability to work collaboratively in larger or smaller groups was identified as a priority.
